Gary Washington...
Gary Washington was born in the Metro Detroit area. He studied at Oakland University and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
While, pursuing his career in engineering he began to work closely with his brother in the field of photography. He started his journey shooting fashion shows and later developed a passion for fine art photography, traveling to places like Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Gary gained experience, creativity and inspiration, which easily translates, to his work today.
In addition, Gary likes to experiment with different angles and creative styles. Taking an interest in Detroit’s rich heritage, he has grown to love and study black and white photography. He often relates black and white photographs to “timeless pieces of art”.
Also, very active in the Detroit community, Gary is a board member and event planner for Covenant House Michigan, where he works with a team of young professionals to raise funds and help youth who have no place to call home. In fact, Covenant House Michigan displays one of his donated works entitled “Barcelona Nights” to serve as a reminder to the youth to keep fighting for their dreams. The wall art has been on display since 2015 when he joined the organization and volunteered for their youth mentor program.
Gary’s photographs, wall art and other products have sold all over the Metro Detroit area. He plans to expand his portfolio by offering travel stock photography through his online gallery, travel guides and additional options for all of his customers.
